CAPS montageHave Your Say on Cycling…

Do you want more cycle paths? Subsidised cycling? More cycle clubs in your area? Or have you never considered getting on a bike?

Whatever your views, we want to hear them.

The Cycling Action Plan for Scotland (CAPS) will be one of the most exciting developments in cycling in Scotland in decades, as it seeks to draw together all organisations with a stake in cycling to deliver real and lasting change based on the needs of the public.

The Cycling Action Plan For Scotland consultation document is available now...

Over the summer of 2008 we asked you for your ideas on actions that would encourage people to cycle more often and what should be included in a Cycling Action Plan for Scotland (CAPS). The CAPS consultation document was published on the Scottish Government website on 28 May and the consultation period will run until 20 August 2009.

CAPS Cover This is your chance to tell us if we got the actions right and if there is anything else missing. You can find the document here:

Some of the key consultation events held in the initial stages of CAPS were:

Public Roadshow Events (now complete):

As well as taking the time to fill out thousands of surveys, the public had the chance to meet the CAPS team at our four Roadshow events and were entertained by our team of stunt bike Riderz, grabbed goodies, won prizes and left video messages in our Big Brother-style diary booth. For those who had a bit more to say, there was the opportunity to Meet The Board at a series of workshops.

Stakeholder Conference

Stakeholders got their chance to develop CAPS further when the views of the public were considered at our Stakeholder Engagement Conference on Tuesday 7th October at Perth Concert Hall.

Online Survey:

We’ve had a fantastic response to our online survey with well over 1000 filled out online.
